How do I uninstall Pinterest on Android?

- You need to open the Settings app and go to Applications or Apps.

From any Home screen, tap the Applications icon . Tap Settings > Application manager. Find and tap Pinterest (or com.pinterest.android). Tap Uninstall. You’ll be asked if you’re sure you want to uninstall Pinterest. Tap OK. This will completely remove all of your personal data and content from our app’s local directory on your device. However, it does not permanently delete the data; if you install the app again later, your previous settings and preferences are preserved in order to help get you back up and running as quickly as possible. Note that this is different from uninstalling an app entirely with your device’s standard “Uninstall” option, which removes it from your device entirely and may cause you to have to log in again the next time you reinstall.
If you accidentally uninstall the app and want your pins back, you can easily download Pinterest from the Google Play Store. You will need a Google account to login again as we do not store any of your details on our servers so you will be prompted to login with Google or create another account. Once logged in, all your pinned content will be there for you (as long as they are public). Just go ahead and tap that pin button!
If after reinstalling Pinterest, some of your pins are missing or were accidentally deleted, fear not! All of the pinners on Pinterest are super passionate about their pins so most likely your pinned content will be repinned by others. Don’t fret – just visit our #unpinned section in our Explore tab and you can enjoy a new set of awesome pictures that have been repinned for you.

The more recent APKs removed the “uninstall” button from settings… which meant that if you wanted to CLEANLY uninstall the application, you would need root access so you could remove Android’s internal code references to the application.
However, if you want to just stop using the app and not uninstall it… you can do so by going to your Account Settings page (found in the top menu bar of any Pinterest page) and clicking on Deactivate your account . From there, click through all of the required pages (I recommend bookmarking them or taking a screenshot for future reference). Once you’ve done that, log into your browser and navigate over to https://pinterest.com/deactivate_app/?promoCode=BROTHERS where you’ll see a prompt asking if you’d like to deactivate your Android App . Click Do it! , enter ” BROTHERS ” as your promo code, continue through the prompts, and you’re done!
Curious about what’s happening behind the scenes? The Pinterest app is just a wrapper around their web service… which means that it makes an HTTP call to https://api.pinterest.com/v3/device/uninstall , with your API key as its username and ” BROTHERS ” as its password. If everything passed validation, the server will respond (with an empty JSON document), which will in turn be handled by Pinterest’s Android client, causing you to close out of Settings .
That said, I haven’t personally used this method in a while since I use a custom launcher along with Tasker scripts to toggle application permissions on and off. That way I can keep the application installed but still have it disabled.
Finally, if you’re looking to uninstall from your iOS device… I don’t believe that you can do so directly as of this writing. Instead, you’ll either need to use a tool like iFunbox or Cydia Substrate to disable it (if you don’t want to uninstall) or delete the app directly via iTunes .
